Tips for taking care of wool products
Wool is a natural fiber. It is repellent to water and dirt. It is not necessary to wash it frequently, since its natural protection, lanolin, disappears with many washes. It is enough to shake and hang the products outdoors. When you need to wash the blanket, it can be done by dry cleaning (no shrinkage) or by hand max. 30 degrees. Use neutral, organic soap for wool, if possible. Shrinkage on first wash 6% approx.
To store in the most natural way, avoiding toxic products, for long periods it is recommended to put the product in a sealed cloth or plastic bag with 3 or 4 cedar wood pellets, to keep moth away. The balls have to be wrapped in a light cloth so they don’t stain the wool. Or you can use bay leaves.
Merino wool is a natural product. Its handcrafted production in limited quantities means that small flaws can be found in the fabric, such as speckles of fibers of another color or a small knot. This makes it an even more special, natural and authentic product.
